Traffic and parking fines

Sometimes it happens: you receive a fine or penalty. Unfortunately, traffic violations and parking tickets are part of driving. But what happens if you get a fine while driving your KINTO car? Let us explain.

Since the car is not registered in your name, all fines come directly to us. To avoid late fees, we pay the fine immediately. The fine amount, along with an administrative fee, is then charged to you. These costs will be added to your invoice summary in the KINTO app, so you can always view them easily. Additionally, we’ll email you a copy of the fine.

Want to contest a fine?

It’s possible to contest a fine. If you believe the fine is unjustified, you can file an objection. We’ll email you a copy of the fine with instructions on how to appeal. Keep in mind that the fine will already have been added to your invoice when you file your objection. If your appeal is successful and the fine is canceled, let us know as soon as possible. We’ll ensure that the fine amount, including the administrative fee, is refunded to you.

Fines from abroad

Have you recently taken your KINTO car on holiday and received a fine from another country? Don’t worry! We process foreign fines the same way as Dutch fines.

Please note that there is a list of countries you’re allowed to drive to with a KINTO car. You can find this list in our terms and conditions. We carefully verify foreign fines before passing them on to you, so you can trust their authenticity. Also, fines from most EU countries may take longer to be issued to you.

Was someone else driving?

We charge the fine to the person who holds the car subscription. If you lent the car to another driver, it’s important to settle this matter between yourselves. The responsibility for the fine remains with the subscription holder.

I need a parking permit, is that possible?

Once we’ve scheduled a delivery appointment and the license plate is known, we can send you an online driver’s declaration upon request in advance. Otherwise, the declaration will be sent within 5 working days after the car has been picked up or delivered. You can use this declaration to apply for your parking permit.

What should I look out for when returning the car?

When returning the car, the condition will be recorded in the return form. It is important to report any damage promptly; you are only liable for damage up to the amount of your excess. Normal wear and tear does not need to be reported. Make sure the car is clean both inside and out to avoid additional cleaning fees.

When returning the car, you must return everything that came with it, including the keys, registration certificate, maintenance booklet, and accessories. Don’t forget to erase any personal digital data, such as navigation history and phone connections.

If you discover any unreported damage, please report it in advance through the damage form in the app before returning the car.

Is a deposit required?
